How to Use

Strategy Tips

  1. Later positions allow you to play a wider range of hands
  2. Premium hands (AA, KK, QQ, AK) should be raised from any position
  3. Play tight from early positions
  4. You can play more aggressively from the button

Poker Terms

TAG (Tight-Aggressive)

Strategy combining tight hand selection with aggressive betting. Play only premium hands, but bet and raise aggressively when you do play.

Position

Your seat location relative to the button. Late positions (CO, BTN) have informational advantage, while early positions (UTG, MP) are disadvantaged.

VPIP (Voluntarily Put money In Pot)

Percentage of hands where you voluntarily put money in the pot. TAG players typically maintain 15-20% VPIP.

3-Bet

Re-raising an opponent's raise. Used with premium hands or as a bluff.

Continuation Bet (C-Bet)

Betting on the flop after raising preflop. Maintains aggression and helps take down pots.

Hand Notation

Simple way to notate poker hands. AA=pocket aces, AKs=Ace-King suited (same suit), AKo=Ace-King offsuit (different suits). "s" means suited (flush possible), "o" means offsuit (different suits). Higher card is written first.
